NEET PG Examination

EXAMINATION

NEET PG: Postgraduate Medical Entrance Exam (India)

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) is a nationwide entrance examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in India. It serves as the single gateway for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses across various government and private medical colleges. NEET PG is crucial for medical graduates aspiring to specialize in clinical and non-clinical branches within India. The exam is highly competitive and demands rigorous preparation, as it tests a wide range of subjects studied during MBBS.

Exam Format

NEET PG is a computer-based examination conducted in English. It consists of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each with four options and only one correct answer. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes. The paper covers subjects taught during the MBBS course, including pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical areas.

  • Total Questions: 200
  • Exam Mode: Online (CBT)
  • Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
  • Marking Scheme: +4 for correct answer, -1 for incorrect

To be eligible for NEET PG, candidates must hold an MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS pass certificate recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or National Medical Commission (NMC). Additionally, they must have completed or be completing their one-year compulsory rotating internship by the stipulated date set by NBE. Foreign medical graduates must also have cleared the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) to be eligible for NEET PG.
